“The Heritage Trail and Langtang Valley Trail”

Namaste: We did the Heritage Trail and Langtang Valley Trail with Durga and his team and was a wondurful experience. That mountains are so beautiful and the village people are very friendly and kind. I really recommend do that trails with Durga and his team. Durga is a very nice, friendly and kind guy and a very good guide. He did with us the first trail because his guide´s were all occupied. He knows very well the villages, the mountains, he show us things that i didn´t saw the others guides of the others turists show. After we did the Langtang trail with his guide Vuwan. He´s a very nice young man, in his free time he study french and he knows also the trail and his storys. And to finish we have to talk about our porter, Lakpa. What a kind and gentil man. We were sad to say goodbye to everyone.... Thank you Durga for a lifetime experience.

“Upper Mustang trek”

Date: 22 Oct 2013 Our Upper Mustang trek was an amazing experience both in terms of the unusual physical beauty and the ever-present stream of spirituality, especially in the extraordinary medieval city of Lo Manthang. Durga Tamang, our trekking guide, made sure that we had a peaceful, comfortable and flexible trek. With a kind and quiet manner, he successfully worked to accommodate our needs and desires. One of the things we especially appreciated about trekking with this company was our very small group.

“Tamang Heritage Trekking”

Durga is a really nice men. when we first met him we already had some bad experiences with tour guides in Kathmandu who tried to sell very hard there trekking trips. but durga wasn't like those man. he made directly a really sympathic first impression.we drunk some tea together and chatted about the trip and so we decided to do together the Tamang Trek for 10 days.

the 10 days together with durga were fun. he cared a lot about us and was on the one hand our guide and on the other hand  he became a friend of us. Meeting his wife in the mountains was also a really nice experience. she cannot speak English but nevertheless she welcomed us by heard. we can highly recommend durga as a tour guide.

Le treck etait super! Nous sommes passes de village en village, les paysages sont magnifiques. Nous avons vu les differents métiers, des tisseuses, des bergers, des gens dans les cultures, le travail se fait a l’ancienne,  c’ est tres interessant. Le soir nous logions dans des lodges chez des gens tres sympas, nous avons pu voir comment ils cuisinaient. J ai adore les sources chaudes après une journee de treck , c etait genial.  Very nice trip with Durga! A very committed guy, native from Gatlang with an amazing knowledge from the region. We were feeling very comfortable and confident all along the trek, and we enjoy sharing our impressions with him. Fabulous trek with views over the valleys and the mountains moving with the weather! High diversity of landscapes, and whatever the weather is, you could always enjoy something as you will move through villages with secularly traditions. Accommodations in the guesthouses are nice for exchanges with local population. We highly recommend the professionalism of Durga and especially Tamang Treck.

“Walking the Heritage Trail and the Langtang Valley trek”

Travelling alone, and with the idea of going trekking, I started to inform myself, which trail I should choose. I read about different treks and choose the Heritage Trail, because it is a relatively new trek, easy to walk and everyone who did this trek recommended it.

Although it is a very easy going trek I wanted to have a guide to show and explain the live of the people in the villages along the trek.I went to the KEEP office in Kathmandu to read about other people’s experience. Many people there recommended Durga for this trek, and so I gave him a call. We met the next day and planned the trek.

Because of he is from the village Gatlang, which is also along the Heritage Trail, and he took part in creating this trail he has a lot of knowledge about the culture, problems and hopes of the people living in this area.

I had planned only the Heritage Trail in 12 days, but because I was so happy with Durga, we added two extra days in the end and went also to the Langtang Valley trek.

During our 14 days together we had a lot of fun, and because of everyone know him there we were able to visit some hydro power plants along the trail.

When I compare these two different treks, I must say that I really like the Langtang Valley trek and love the Heritage trail!!

First, there are not so many other tourists, so you have a better chance to explore the village live;
Second are the villages and people living there! 
I can really recommend, walking this trek together with Durga!

“Really Nice Experience”
