The Guest House is a very special Tibetan, style house with western comfort. Terraces set spacious flower rooms, gardens give views north across to the snow grad Himalayan range and Gatlang village beyond. The village of Gatlang is situated along the Tamang Heritage Trail and is far off the beaten track in the Langtang mountains. The village comprises nine wards, of which six form the centrally clustered village with about 400 households. About 2500 people live in Gatlang; a majority of whom (about 98%) belong to the Tamang community. This guest house is situated on the top of the village and we can easily view the beauty of nature and beauty of village.
Following the development of Tamang Heritage Trail by the “Tourism for Rural Poverty Alleviation Program” (TRPAP) in the year 2005, we felt the need to establish a teahouse in order to provide visitors in the region with basic accommodation facilities. Initially started as a homestay project, we were later approached by the TRPAP to develop it into a guest house. Since we were financially unable to construct the guesthouse on our own, the TRPAP agreed to fund the construction and provided us the needed financial assistance. Fully completed in the following year, the Paldor Peak Guest House is now the oldest and only of its kind in Gatlang without having rush lost its family character.

According to Hinduism, when the poison released from the churning ocean killed the entire human race, then Lord Shiva drank that poison to save the entire human world. As the poison started to burn from within, Lord Shiva went to the Himalayas to ease the burning sensation, so he brought his wife Parvati with him. It is said that when Parvati climbed the Himalayan region (Parvati now Parvati Kunda) . After knowing that Aama Chhodingmo (Parvatikunda) is the mother, the water of these two places can be used as auspicious for penance and can be used for bathing after attaining enlightenment. Since it was possible for Guru Rimporche to convey the knowledge gained through penance to the human community, bathing in the water of one of these two pools is said to fulfill all wishes.

Welcome to Gatlang,
The Tamang Heritage Trail Trek is a newly introduced trail lying north of Kathmandu. It is possible to do only Tamang heritage trek or continue with Langtang Valley. Tamang Heritage trek is a relatively new trail for excellent walk, either on its own or in conjunction with a Langtang Valley trek. Tamang Heritage trek is one of the nearest trekking destination from Kathmandu lies an unparalleled combination of natural beauty and cultural riches of Langtang, Rasuwa. Langtang has over 70 glaciers of varying sizes, the Langtang and Ganesh Himal mountain ranges, and high altitude lakes including Gosainkundas, Parvatikunda( Aama Chhodingmo) Jaisor kunda, Dhilpokunda. The people in this place are mostly of Tamang and Tibetan origin background, whose culture goes back to hundreds of years.
The Tamang Heritage Trail is developed by the Tourism for Rural Poverty Alleviation Program (TRPAP) under the UNDP fund, Tamang Heritage Trekking is a newly developed trekking destination which was developed to distribute equal tourism opportunities among the poor rural communities living in the Rasuwa region. The region has the feel of little rich Tibet, Tamang culture amazing natural scenery and awesome mountain vistas and trekkers who have gone there claim it is like trekking in Langtang 59 years ago. Since its development, the revenue and other income generated by the tourism activities in this region contributed directly to the local communities supporting the local livelihood, the craftsmanship, dress, traditionally built stone houses, and the beautifully carved wooden roof’s porches reflect their rich Himalayan heritage. Partly protected as Distric development community as well, visit to the area gives Himalayan nature experience and an insight into the lifestyle and culture of the Tamangs who are predominant inhabitants of the region.
Located about 132 km toward the north of Kathmandu near the Tibetan border, Langtang was previously a restricted area. Extending in an east-west direction, it is bordered on the north by the main crest of the Himalayas, dominated by Ganesh Himal ( 7422m) Langtang Lirung (7,245 m), the highest peak in the area. To the south are the Chimse Danda (ridge), crossed by the Ganja La pass (5,122 m), and Jugal Himal, culminating in Dorje Lakpa (6,989 m). Glaciers spawned by the slopes of Langtang Lirung, Sanjen Himals, Ganesh Himals and other peaks feed the Langtang Khola (river).
The Langtang River passes through the high, gentle Langtang Valley before emptying in a raging torrent into the Bhote Kosi River through a long, narrow defile at the west end of the valley. Whereas the major rivers of Nepal flow south from Tibet cutting through the Himalayan chain, the Langtang Khola, a major tributary of the Trisuli Ganga, flows east to west, cutting, as it were, across the grain of the country.
The Trisuli, or Bhote Kosi as it becomes above Dhunche, forms an important corridor and ancient trade route through the mountains between the Ganesh and Langtang Himal, to Kerung in Tibet.Langtang valley, indigenous tamang culture and Gosainkunda are the prime attractions of this region. New trekking trail: Tamang Heritage Trail, offers yet another option and a peek at the Himalayan lifestyle and culture. The unexplored part of the Langtang National Park has recently been connected with Tamang Heritage Trail. Tamang heritage trail trek is very famous to know the Tamang and Tibetan culture, nature beauty and visiting in Tibet border Rasuwagadi to know the Tibet trade center and their custom.

Day 06Volunteering in Gatlang MonateryBuddhist monasteries are the centre of both religious practice and education. It is believed that Buddhist monks and nuns are among the few who receive a balanced education of both the traditional and modern world. Many novices come from remote areas and extreme poverty and do not have access to education of any kind in their home. In addition, their parents often can’t afford to send their children to school even if a school exists in their village. The only chance for these children is to become a monk or nun. As a volunteer at a Buddhist monastery, you will provide basic conversational English lessons to monks and nunnery students. Volunteers will be responsible for planning their own creative English lessons and activities, such as games, drawing and painting, and observe and participate in traditional Buddhist rituals. Volunteers also have a chance to participate in some monastery run programs and meditation during free time. This program combines religious learning and research through volunteering. Moreover, it will help the Buddhist children to explore more scriptures written in English and to circulate Buddhist teaching practice to the whole world. You do not need any formal teacher training or experience to participate but you need a good command of written and spoken English. In addition you just have to be independent, enthusiastic and adaptable with an open-minded attitude. followed by a meditation session Visit the Palden Druk Galang Chhoding Chhyolihng Monastry
Day 07 Volunteering as a Health WorkerEach year, many Nepalese die or suffer unnecessarily due to lack of health education and access to adequate health care resources. The sick in the mountain regions or villages sometimes die long before a physician can even diagnose. Because of the poor transportation, patients often have to be hand-carried in bamboo baskets to the nearest health center, often many miles from their village. Individuals with special knowledge in the following areas are always needed. Primary Care and General Medicine General Dentistry/ Oral Surgery Pediatrics Gynecology and Women's Health Health Education There is working to address these issues by sponsoring village level community health initiatives, to do this we need volunteers who can train Nepalese health workers as well as provide direct health care services. In addition, our medicine projects are also an invaluable preparation for a career in medicine. You will experience the stark contrast between Western medical practice and the realities of medicine in developing countries. The key requirements in a medical volunteer are initiative, enthusiasm, and readiness to work in unfamiliar circumstances - a surgery with minimal equipment or an understaffed hospital. This program has the potential to give you plenty of hands-on experience and exposure to the medical field. Volunteering is Community Development This volunteering opportunity includes building classrooms, repairing schools, decorating and painting classrooms, building toilets, building community centers, a library hall and cleaning public. It also includes helping to build low emission energy efficient stoves which help the health of poor communities. This is an unique way of sharing skills and learning the local way of building and construction. Your mental as well as physical contribution is required to make any project a success. Anybody interested in construction works can participate in this program. However, the job will be easier if you have some kind of construction experiences or knowledge.
Day 08 Volunteering in AgricultureJoin the agricultural volunteering program to learn about organic farming methods while promoting ecological farming and fair trade to ensure healthy, diverse and safe food. This program allows volunteer to work in the fields and learn more about sustainable agriculture. As an organic farming volunteer, you will learn how to grow your own food without pesticides, be exposed to many new and alternative learning experiences, and give something back to the environment. The Orche Nepal NGO spain has house reconstruction program and rebuilding traditionally culturally house those which was destroyed by earthquake in 2015 back then.
