Mr. Durga Tamang is the Executive Director of Himalayan Unforgettable Adventure Ltd and one of its founding members. He grew up in Gatlang, which is situated in the picturous Langtang region 165 km north of Kathmandu. Beautiful Gatlang is one overnight stop on the famous Tamang Heritage Trek which is known for its cultural depth and scenic views.

He has been working in trekking tourism  for more than 19 years guiding groups to Langtang, Gosaikunda, Annapurna, Mustang, Manaslu, Everest, Dolpo,. In 2011 he established his own trekking  agency. Himalayan unforgetable  Adventure is a lonely planet based company.He feel very close with Internatiuonal friendfs, European friends in Spain, French, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Portuguese, Austria, Netherlands. As well he got  chance to do trekking in Nepal. He is intimately familiar with numerous local traditions, customs and languages of all the major trekking areas. He loves to share his cultural insights with our clients that are not covered in any guide book. For his work, he has always received outstanding reviews and the highest degree of appreciation.

Durga is also a highly engaged social worker. In rural villages of remote places such as the Rasuwa district people mainly live self-sufficient and often the food that is grown (mainly barley, wheat and potatoes) is often not enough to feed its inhabitants during the four harsh winter months let alone financing education for the youngsters. Being a half orphan himself and coming from a very poor background Durga knows  the importance of receiving a decent education and started his mission for the new generation. In order to support the people of his home district Rasuwa he established the local NGO “Rural Tourism and Environment Education Society” (RTEES Nepal) in 2009. The organization is aiming to enhance the economic capacity of rural communities by eco-friendly and qualitative tourism. The gain from this ultimately goes to the schools and children of the communities. RTEES Nepal is therefore proud to support five schools and is actively involved in local development.

Following the development of Tamang Heritage Trail by the “Tourism for Rural Poverty Alleviation Program” (TRPAP) in the year 2005, he felt the need to establish a teahouse in order to provide visitors in the region with basic accommodation facilities. Initially started as a homestay project,  which was later approached by the TRPAP to develop it into a guest house. Since  they were financially unable to construct the guesthouse on trheir own, the TRPAP agreed to fund the construction and provided them the needed financial assistance. Fully completed in the following year, the  Paldor Peak Guest House  also in tripadvisor  is now the oldest and only of its kind in Gatlang without having lost its family character.

 Himalayan Unforgettable Adventures is fully governmentally authorized and affiliated with various tourism associations in Nepal.
