The Annapurna Base Camp Trek. It is quite easy and shorter trek than other high altitude trekking in Nepal. This trek incorporates diverse terrain, culture, and wildlife. Along with the most spectacular and close up view of Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli. You will thoroughly enjoy the breathtaking mountain views, beautiful landscape, and diverse cultures while learning important lessons in life. The trek is suitable for all people with sound physical health advised for the trek, mainly due to the altitude. 

Annapurna Base Camp (4130m/13550feet.) trek is a moderate nature trek. Ghandruk and Chhomrong  Gurung village.  Annapurna base camp (4130m.) and in Jhinu( hot spring) is a major attraction of this trek. The itinerary is given below:

Day 1: Kathmandu to Pothana (1990m, 22km)

Pokhara by flight, drive to Phedi and start trek to Pothana for overnight stay. 30 minutes flight, an hour drive and 4/5 hours uphill trek.

Day 2: Trek to Jhinu Danda(1780m, 13 km, 6/7 hours)
Enjoy your breakfast with a pleasant sunrise view, and continue trek Jhinu Danda via Tolkha and Landruk village

Day 3: Trek to Dovan (2,800m, 12km, 6/7 hours)
Breakfast and trek uphill to Chhomrong and steep descend to Chhomrong Khola. Cross it, and again trek steep uphill to Sinuwa. The walk ascends and descends to Bamboo through dense forest to Bamboo (2,310m). Then continue through the uninhabited forest up to Dovan.


Day 4: Trek to ABC (4130m, 12km, 7/8 hours) via MBC (3,730m)
Breakfast and trek all uphill to Annapurna Base Camp via Machhapuchhare Base Camp. The trek distance covers 12km takes 7/8 hours

Day 5: Trek Down to Chhomrung (1,980m, 17km, 7/8 hours)
Early morning wake up, enjoy the views of Annapurna Himalayas, breakfast and trek down to Chhomrung.


Day 6:  Chhomrung to Pokhara. (910m, 1o km) Trek to Siwai and drive back to Pokhara (910m). We trek nearly 10km on foot takes 4/5 hours to Siwai and drive 55km takes 2/3 hours by jeep.


Day 7: Flight back to Kathmandu. Early in the morning, we will see the sunrise at Sarangkot from where we can have a pleasant view.  We can see the clear view of  Mt.Dhaulagiri, Mt. Nilgiri and Annapurna range, Lamjung Himal from Saragkot and back to the hotel. Sightseeing in Pokhara around the lakeside. And in the afternoon we fly back to Kathmandu

Detail Itinerary

Day 01Arrive at Tribubhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, (1,300m /4,264 ft)Transfer to the hotel, will organize a Welcome Dinner at an excellent traditional Nepalese restaurant where we enjoy a Nepalese cultural program as well as a fine meal. Included meal: Dinner (B, B )

Day 02Flight to Pokhara ( 26 minuts) (910m. Ghandruk 4 hoursSame day drive from Pokhara to Nayapul or Ghandruk Phedi trek start to Ghadruk. We take a morning flight to Pokhara. On board enjoy the mountainous vista; Mt Annapurna and Mt. Fishtail (Machhapuchchre) in their snowy attire, almost glaring at you as you glance out of the plane’s window! After meager 25 minutes, you will set your feet in one of the most appealing cities of Nepal. Pokhara happens to be the most longed tourist destination for holiday. But today, we are not exploring the city as we have something else on cards. Our transport vehicle will drive us away from the airport and take us to Nayapul (meaning new bridge). Here we gear up a bit and commence our trek to the Ghandruk village. We embark on the downhill route through the forests for about 6 hours and arrive at Ghandruk by mid noon. It is a beautiful valley dwelt mostly by the people of ‘Gurung’ community and located to the north-west of Pokhara. Spend the later half of the afternoon exploring the village as well as paying a visit to the headquarter of Annapurna Conservation Project and Traditional Gurung Museum. While at Ghandruk, you can relish the view of Annarpurna, Machhapuchchre and Himchuli. Overnight in Ghandruk at teahouse; breakfast, lunch and dinner. (B, L, D)

Day 03Ghandruk to Chhomrong (2,110m/7,249 ft): 4- 5 hrs,Early morning have breakfast then our trek from Ghandruk, we embark on the uphill route to Ghandrukot for about an hour and then take an immediate descent to the Kimran Khola (river). Surrendering to the frequent ups and downs along the route, we make yet another ascent from Kimran Khola, after which we are gifted with a comfy walk for about an hour. Pleasure is short-lived; hence we again have to take a steep ascent to eventually reach Chhomrong, which is the gateway to the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek, and lies tucked at the very base of Himal Chuli. Gurungs are the main inhabitants of Chhomrong and it is the last permanent settlement in the valley. Overnight stay in Chhomrong at a teahouse; breakfast, lunch, and dinner included ( B, L, D)

Day 04Chhomrong to Dovan (2610m) walking distance 5- 6 hoursThe trailing along the Modi Khola (river), we kiss good-bye to the inhabited foothills of Chhomrong. We the cross a suspension bridge and head to Sinuwa Danda. From here, we embark on a seemingly flatter trail picketed with rhododendron bushes alongside and make an ascent to Khuldighar. What a bumpy trek it is!! The route again slides very steeply down a rocky bank, then to our relief, flattens out, running through bamboo bunches and rhododendron forests, finally getting us to Dovan. Overnight stay in dovan at teahouse ; (B,L,D).

Day 05Dovan to Machhapuchhare Base Camp (3700m): walking distance 6-7 hoursLeaving Dovan trekking to Machhapuchhare Base Camp. A trek of narrow Modi Khola valley brings you almost to the base of M.B.C. There’s technically no such thing as ‘Machhapuchhare Base Camp’, since ascents of the mountains are prohibited. The mountain views are stupendous; the panorama includes Hiuchhuli, Annapurna ranges and the ever-changing Machhapuchhare. This area is called the Annapurna sanctuary since it is totally surrounded by mountains. A huge amphitheater enclosed by a solid wall of snow-capped peaks which include Annapurna I, Annapurna III and the fish tail spire of Machhapuchhare.Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Overnight in MBC at teahouse( B, L,D)

Day 06Machhapuchhare Base Camp Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m) and back to Dovan walking distance 6- 7 hoursMachhapuchhare Base Camp Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m) and back to Dovan. The climb to Annapurna Base Camp takes under two hours. You descend a small ridge branching out from the mountain pass to mountainside with widespread terraced fields showcasing tranquil meadows and lush fertile farming land. As you reach Annapurna South Base Camp, witness awesome picturesque landscapes, majestic panoramic view of snow-capped mountainous peaks and varied Himalayan cultural settings tucked beneath the southern slopes of the Annapurna massive. Tremendous Annapurna Range stops your heart beat for a while; whole day without rest chill out around to explore ABC. At the end we will drop down back to Dovan. Overnight stay in Dovan at teahouse, (B,L, D)

Day 07Dovan trek to Jhinu Dada hotspring (1760m): walking distance 6-7 hoursAscend on a long, steep, slippery stone staircase from the village of Dovan. Climb out of the side valley passing through deep forests of bamboo, rhododendron and oak to Chhomrong, from here steeply down trek more 45 minutes take to you Jhinu, where you can enjoy the natural hot spring small polls near Modi Khola. Meals included: Breakfast, Overnight stay in Jhinu Dada at teahouse, (B,L, D)

Day 08Jhinu Dada to Pokhara walking distance 4 hours then Today we will walk the down part of the trail mostly flat along the river to Ghandruk Phedi for lunch at Phedi. Nather 3 hours drive to Pokhara stay in Pokhara at Hotel ( B, L)

Day 09 Explore day in PokharaExplore day in Pokhara early in the morning we drive to Sarangkot hill to see the sunrise over the mountain in the views. After seeing sunrise we drive back to Hotel have breakfast and whole day we will explore the Pokhara city which includes Gupteswor Cave, David Fall, Seti River Gorge, Mountain Museum and last but not the least do boating in Fewa lake and go to Barahi Temple. If you wish paragliding in Pokhara you can be able to do. Pokhara offers the magnificent vista of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Machhapuchhare , surrounding view of these mountains from Sarangot and Paragliding starting from this place along with many others. Pokhara is also the gateway to Annapurna Region . In the evening we will walk around the lakeside in Pokhara. Over night stay in Pokhara at Hotel.

Day 10 Flight back to Kathmandu(1300 M) from Pokhara about 26 minutes.we flight Once you are in Kathmandu, check into hotel and take a leisurely and relaxing time.( B, B)

Day 02: Flight Kathmandu to Pokhara (910m/: 25 min. Transfer to Kathmandu’s domestic airport for a morning flight to Pokhara along the Himalayan Range. Transfer to your hotel. Afternoon stroll around Lake City Pokhara and final trek preparation. Overnight in Pokhara( B.B

Day 03: Pokhara to Nayapul to Tikhedhunga (1,495m/4 ,905ft)- Ulleri (1,950m/1½ hrs drive (45 km), 5-6 hrs trek, 10 km. After early morning breakfast, drive along the zigzag route to Nayapul where we commence our trek to Birethanti, a large and prosperous riverside village at the confluence of the Modi and Bhurungdi Kholas (streams). We hike up to Sudame along the off road and then climb gradually up the side of the valley, Tikhedhunga. Cross suspension metal bridge and steep ascent on stone staircases to the village of Ulleri – and an amazing landscape of valley floor where we came during the day with marvelous views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. Overnight in Ulleri at Lodge (L.D.B

Day 04: Tikhedhunga, Ulleri to Ghorepani (2,850m: 5-6 hours ~11km. After breakfast, our pleasant trekking begins through rhododendron and oak forests. The scenery will give you the energy to continue up the steps as you immerse yourself in the walk. After a few hours and with several breaks we reach Ghorepani. Upper Ghorepani (Deurali) where we stay in this trip, offers fantastic views of Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna Himalayas. Overnight in Ghorepani at Lodge ( L.D.B)

Day 05: Walk up Poon hill (3,210m/ Ghorepani to Tadapani (2,520m/7-8 hours12km. Make a pre-dawn start for the 45 minute walk up Poon hill (3,210m/10,530ft); through rhododendron forest. From the grassy top of the hill there is an unobstructed panoramic view of the high Himalayas stretching from far western Dolpo, and Dhaulagiri (8,172m/26,812ft), the Annapurna Range in the north, including Machhapuchhare (Fish Tail) and on to Manaslu (8,163m/26,783ft) in the northeast. To the south, the mist slowly rises from the flatlands towards India. After countless photographs, walk back to Ghorepani for breakfast.The eastward trail to Tadapani crosses numerous ridges through thick pine and rhododendron forest with occasional flat sections and wonderful views of the snow peaks to the north from high ground. Overnight in Tadapani at Lodge( L.D.B

Day 06: Tadapani to Chhomrong (2,112m/5-6 hours 12km. The trail turns north to Chiule before dropping to cross the Kimrong Khola on a suspension bridge and then gradually climbs into the forested Modi Khola Valley that carries glacial melt waters from the Annapurna Sanctuary. After lunch at the Gurung village of Talung, undulate for another 1½hrs, sometimes on stair cases up to the charming agricultural village of Chhomrong: the largest settlement in the valley. Views of the upper valley plus Annapurna South and Himal Chuli gradually come into view. Overnight in Chhomrong at Lodge( L.D.B

Day 07: Chhomrong to Himalaya Hotel (2,920m/ 6-7 hours 12km. After breakfast, the trail drops to cross the Chhomrong Khola and then ascends to the pretty village of Sinuwa. Thereafter the trail enters the upper Modi Khola Valley through dense forests of cane, rhododendron and oak. It rises then drops to the village of Bamboo (2,310m/7,580ft) on the banks of the river: a prefect lunch spot. After lunch, continue up through uninhabited forest to Dobhan, later crossing several avalanche chutes before reaching the small village of Himalaya Hotel. Overnight in Himalaya Hotel at Lodge( L.D.B

Day 08: Himalaya Hotel to Machhapuchhare (3,700m/12,136ft). /: 6-7 hours 10km. As the altitude increases, forest gives way to alpine scrub and grasses. The valley walls steepen with the river raging far below. Explore the cave at Hinku before crossing a ravine and major avalanche track prior to reaching Deorali (3,230m/10,598ft). Breathtaking views into the sacred Annapurna Sanctuary gradually appear as the trail heads over a ridge and climbs to the Machhapuchhare Base Camp. Overnight stay in MBC at Lodge (L.D.B

Day 09: Machhapuchhare Base Camp Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m) and back to Dovan walking distance 6- 7 hours Machhapuchhare Base Camp Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m) and back to Dovan. The climb to Annapurna Base Camp takes under two hours. Day 11: Jhinu to Forest Camp (2,600m/8,531 feet). Today we will be entering our second destination, the newly opened Mardi Himal. From Jhinu the next morning, we will bid farewell to the Annapurna Base Camp trail and walk the less-trodden trail to the beautiful Gurung settlement of Landruk. From Landruk we will STEEPLY ascent the Steps-Trail to Forest Camp. As the name suggests this settlement is inside the forest and its fun to spend a night. Overnight stay in Forest Camp at Teahouse( B L D)

Day 12: Forest Camp to Mardi Himal High Camp (3,550m/11,646 feet). Leaving Forest Camp once again we will walk the most enchanting forest trail. This trail, though undulating with multiple small climbs in between, is really beautiful. Gradually we will ascend to the beautiful settlement of Bandal Danda (The Cloudy Hill). From Bandal Dada the next hour and a half climb takes us to High Camp at 3600 m. The view of Holy Machhapuchare (Mt. Fishtail), Annapurna South and Hiunchuli is magical. Overnight stay in Hike at Teahouse ( B L D)

Day 13: Hike to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4505m) 4,5 hours. Today we will have hike to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4505m) and back to High Camp on this excursion. Approximately four to five hours we will be needed to complete the round trips. Alternatively, you can hiking to a viewpoint about halfway and back to High Camp if you don't want to trek all the way to Mardi Himal. Trek down to Badal Danda (3210m), and then overnight stay at a tea house( B L D)

Day 14: Mardi Himal Base Camp to Siding Village ( 5, 6 hours. Today Trekking to Siding village for 5, 6 hours hike, and drive back to Pokhara. There is also the option of extending it one more day. If you add one day to your trek, you will trek from Siding and drives back to Pokhara over night at hotel in Lakeside. (B B)

Day 15: Rest day in pokhara. Today early in the morning we drive to Sarangkot hill to see the sunrise over the mountain in the rear view. After seeing sunrise we drive back to Hotel have breakfast and whole day we will explore the Pokhara city which includes Gupteswor Cave, David Fall, Seti River Gorge, Mountain Museum and last but not the least do boating in Fewa lake and go to Barahi Temple.
